What's a summer holiday without the cousins?
Nothing. Nothing, I tell you.
Especially if it involves all the cousins.
No mean feat, as I'm sure you can imagine.
We kicked it all off on the 4th of July with a traditional Independence Day meal with traditional British Summer BBQ (so in the rain of course) and a traditional Independence Day movie (Independence Day).
And the next day took the kids to Blair Drummond Safari Park, just outside Stirling.
What's not to love about seeing caged Savannah animals munching grass in the pouring rain?
I have a feeling Auntie SoSo is going to tell these stories a lot better than I will.
Hands down the best bit though was the Bird of Prey show.
'Hands down' being the important bit because they seemed to swop and drive to anyone with their hands up.
Our own bird models:
Second best bit: the moving Dragon expo we last saw not far from Aviemore, right before Covid began, thereby book-ending 17 months of masked life.
Sunday was all about Castle Campbell, which was basically an excuse for eating haribo every 45 minutes or so. Not that I'm complaining.
And then...and then....the moment we had all been waiting for. 11 adults and 14 children, a hot tub, 3 separate accommodations (#covidrestrictions), a lot of bikes, and only 1 full day of rain.
A family holiday to remember.
I may or may not add further detail above. Depends how the packing goes ;-)
