The Greatest Works #doesn'tactuallygeteasier!

I am pleased to confirm that I have now received a formal missive from Mr Robertson’s solicitor, which concludes the bargain between you.  This means that a legally binding contract now exists from which neither party can withdraw without incurring penalties. Completion of the sale shall  take place as agreed on 31st July 2020.

And with these words, we become homeless.

Just kidding. Sort of. What would we do without our mums eh?*

It has been a wonderful house for a month shy of 11 years. We got it exactly how we wanted it and we have really enjoyed its location to town, school, the castle and the river, our neighbours, and the way it's been done up. But we need an extra room and a bit more garden, and as we're staying a bit longer in Scotland now, these things have taken on increased importance to us.

So, off we go again. But first, France.

*Once again she is stepping in to the gap and when we return from our summer break we will be staying with her while we sort out a house purchase.

Wipeout #academicyearisDONE

20 days since my last post!

It's not like we've not been doing anything...but I have really appreciated a change of location for 1 of those weeks, and in the first week we finished school, and in this final week we sold our wonderful house in Scotland (yes wonderful, but also small).

So here is a rapid-fire catch up.

Week 1:

Glorious weather = nice photies...

Fathers' Day

...and an end to what must have been the weirdest academic year ever. The kids didn't seem too bothered...in fact I think they enjoyed the extra trampolining time. No moans about not being to swim, or do gymnastics, or orchestra. Funny that.

We celebrated our hands-down highest achievement of 2020 so far: 4 months of home-schooling. Yeah, not so sure what the kids achieved, but us parents deserve an almighty slap on the back.

Small Fry had to organise the end of term party (teacher's orders....real teacher I mean).
First the invite
Then the decorations
And the speech
And then it was the h o l i d a y s...yeah!: another logistical challenge, kindly and ably solved by Mama Boyd and family. See the link for a better update: but this kind of sums it up...
And then it was back home to a week of trampolining, dressing up, selling a house, looking at a bazillion potential replacements, packing and planning. And a few more things thrown in:
Growing up

Being curly
Being grumpy (cutely)

Chillaxing
Chillaxing some more
And chillaxing adult-style:
We leave on Monday for 4 weeks in France and a total break. I might even try and post before 20 days'.
