Time to swtich off those lights again at 20h30 tonight...this year I'm cheating...I'm going out for dinner ;-)
(Wo)Men at Work
The warm weather has even made me emerge from my PhD-hibernation to tinker about in the garden, planting pansies, watching the daffodils turn their heads, and reminding me of quite how many families of worms can live in crevaces between bricks. Scraping back the winter moss brought me into close contact with a whole clan of them, resident in the dark and the dank and somewhat upset to be sawn in half by my raker thing (with a pretty pastel soft grip for gardeners who don't want blisters).
Then I also found a couple of snails living under the plantpots, a few beetles and also some furry small things like earwigs. And then last night at 10pm, in my k i t c h e n, a 3inch long black slug noseying around.
The back door has been open while I get a new shed constructed and the workmen have been in and out, but it's not like slugs move quickly or anything. How on earth did none of us notice my new lodger? I didn't have the heart to bash his little head in so I just moved him to...where else?...but the garden.
The new bespoke shed going up. Did you spot my new yellow garden fence in the first photo?

Hello French Consulate in Edinburgh. Hello Registrar in Stirling....again.
The Writer
Why do writers not look out of the window in the morning?
